Toys for Tots December 2013

This holiday season, Country Nissan, Northampton Volkswagen, Patriot Buick GMC and Country Hyundai  were all a Toys-for-Tots drop off location. The Service Department at each location offered service discounts to anyone that brought in a toy. Customers could donate 1 toy and get 5% off service or donate 2 toys and get 10% off service! 

Toys for Tots was founded in 1947 by the United States Marine Corps Reserve. The purpose of the organization is to provide toys for children whose parents cannot afford Christmas gifts for them. As a result, kids who would otherwise be without the anticipation and joy of gifts are able to share in this Christmas tradition.

TommyCar Auto is already anticipating the growth of the drive next Holiday season! Thank you so much to everyone who donated!

Mayflower Marathon 2013

TommyCar Auto Group was a proud supporter and sponsor of the Rock 102 Mayflower Marathon. The Service Department offered discounts on vehicle maintenance to anyone willing to donate non-perishable canned goods. Thanks to the response and generous support of community members, we received an overwhelming support. In addition, during the morning's 'cash kickoff' on November 25th, 26th and 27th, we were able to match the first $1,000 that was donated by listeners each day. Congratulations to Rock 102 for having a record breaking total of $110,000 donation is made to breast cancer research.

Carla Cosenzi 2013 Professional Woman of the Year

Carla Cosenzi grew up in the family business, but never had any intention of making that her life’s work.  She earned a baccalaureate from Northeastern and masters from Columbia in Clinical Psychology.  After graduation, her dad invited her to work in the business for a while.  She fell in love with the automobile industry and enjoyed working alongside her dad.  

She attended Dealer Academy and learned the business by working in every facet from parts/service to sales to gain experience within the company.  During this time, she fought to earn respect in this male dominated world. She says that facing that challenge made her into the businesswoman she is today.

In 2007, her father, Tom, was diagnosed with a Brain Tumor. With her brother, Tommy, the two of them worked together with their father to prepare the business for the transition ahead. Tom fought a courageous battle for over two years. Unfortunately, he lost the battle on Sept 3, 2009 and it was then that Carla and Tommy became the new owners. 

Carla and Tommy work together through respect and communication to grow their father's legacy. She credits their success to the employees who helped grow the business into the successful one it is today.

Carla is actively involved in the community and also started the Tom Cosenzi Driving for the Cure Charity Golf Tournament in memory of her father.

Golf Fore Health

Once again, The TommyCar Auto Group is a proud sponsor of the 24th Annual Cooley Dickinson  Hospital Golf Fore Health tournament. This year, the Golf Fore Health is raising funds in support of a comprehensive cancer center as part of Cooley Dickinson Hospital's "Building Our Future" campaign. This center will offer access to world-class cancer expertise in one central location for all cancer needs and treatment in the heart of Western MA. The Golf Fore Health tournament takes place on September 9th at Hickory Ridge Golf Club in Amherst, MA.
